My 21st Birthday!

I turned 21 months young on September 13th! I celebrated early with my extended family in Bakersfield (during the Labor Day weekend), where it was VERY H-O-T which means pool time was a mandatory event! (It was 90 degrees at midnight)

Of course, I celebrated in style . . . in my Birthday Suit! My Aunt Mary got me an early present - this great vacuum-mower-popper-thingy. I love it!

And Mommy gave me a my first pedicure. If you've never had one before - don't be surprised if you wake up from a nap someday and . . . TA DA - pedicure!
I didn't get a fancy cake, but I did get icing - my Uncle Mark taught me how to eat my first Oreo cookie!

Y-U-M - that spells heaven!
Well, that about sums up my 21st month birthday celebration. The only bummer is I can't find my vacuum-mower-popper-thingy. I saw mommy unpack it when we got home . . . I wonder where it is?

I think I heard my brothers say something about a closet. Why would they put it in a closet? I think they really liked it when I chased them around the house with it.

P.S. - my brothers & I are ready to make a donation for my Autie Berta's booby-fest. You can read how we saved up the money (on their 9/14 post). Did you make your donation yet? You still can by clicking on her photo in my sidebar. Thanks!

It's my special day!

Today I am 20 months young! Whenever I have a monthly birthday I make it a really special day. Hmmm . . . what shall I do today?

I think I'll start by reorganizing some kitchen drawers . . .

. . . then maybe take apart the vacuum . . .

. . . maybe I'll visit a petting zoo . . .

. . . or pick out some treats at the Sweet Shoppe in town . . .

. . . and top off the day with a lovely nap.
It's gonna be a great day!

Vacation - Part 2

So I promised that I would finish reporting on my last vacation. So here is a map showing where we started in Bakersfield, and our destination in Morro Bay.
We followed this tomato truck from Bakersfield to the "Lost Hills" exit. Bakersfield is in the Central Valley of California, where lots of our fruits, veggies, and nuts come from. (There are a few nuts in my family - believe me.)
These are the lost hills of "Lost Hills." I don't think they're so lost - after all, WE were able to find them!
After a 2 hour drive, we finally got to Morro Bay, which is about 30 minutes from Hearst Castle in San Simeon. My cousins and I played at the beach one day . . .
. . . then at a park the next day. It was lovely weather there. Do you see that big rock? It's called Morro Rock (duh).
There's lots to do in Morro Bay, and you can get more info HERE.

Well, that about sums up my vacation - other than it was a long 5 hour ride home.
Thanks for coming along for the ride!

4th of July Vacation

So can you guess where I went for my vacation? Look at the photos below . . .

No - it's not Florida, or Hawaii, or anywhere tropical . . . it's Bakersfield! That's right - those photos were taken in my Aunt & Uncle's backyard (those are REAL bananas too!)

Most of you think of the image below when you think of Bakersfield - and this photo was taken there too - it's not all just desert and oil, but there's fun stuff to do there too. It also gets VERY HOT! On my vacation it was 112 degrees one day.
When it gets hot there, I typically start my day playing in the sprinklers - at about 8:30 am when it's only 85 degrees.
Then I wave to all the people on the big green lawn on the other side of the fence -  they are smacking little white balls with metal sticks and sometimes they say bad words.
If it's not too hot I go swimming - if' it's really hot during the day I stay inside and play - then I go swimming in the early evening (instead of a bath!)

While I was in Bakersfield for my vacation, I went to a party! Not only was it a 4th of July party, but it was a 50th anniversary party for one of my older cousins. The party was outside with tents and twinkle lights and a band (and really good food too!).
Speaking of cousins . . . I got to meet my newest cousin, Haley. She is only a month old, so now I am not the baby of the family.
Well, that about sums up the FIRST part of my vacation - I will have to report on the second part later.  Taa taa for now!

By the way . . . I am 19 months old - TODAY!

Life is Good!

So, I had a really busy weekend recently . . . first, I had my 18 month check-up. Daddy took lots of photos (of course) - be prepared - there are a few "nekid" ones (but tastefully done). My doctor says I am very healthy and right on target! I weigh almost 24 pounds and I am almost 32 inches tall! I had to get 2 shots, but I was a real trooper and only cried for a split second. The nurse was super fast. I always get a new book from my doctor at the end of the visit. The only bummer about this visit was I lost my pink pony WubbaNub

After my doctor's visit, I went to the County fair with my friend Aidan. We got to see and touch lots of animals (one even kissed my toe).

We got to eat some funnel cake . . . and them we listened to some great steel drum music.

It was a super hot weekend - triple digits! On Saturday I got to go to the downtown plaza and play in the fountain. I don't think people are really supposed to do this . . . but who's gonna tell my cute face to get out?! It was very refreshing - mommy stuck her feet in sometimes.

Then, on Sunday, Mommy took me to the Bay Area Discovery Museum. It is in Sausalito, a town on the North end of the Golden Gate Bridge. I was a beautiful day there and I played in some more water - the fish stream in the Tot Spot. I helped some salmon get back upstream.

The Bay Area Discovery Museum is such a cool place, I will have to tell you more about it and show some more photos another time.

The best part about hot weather at my house is that I get to take a bath in my play pool out on the deck and then run around nekid to dry off. I also like sitting nekid on the porch swing eating kettle korn and sippin' on lemonade.

Ahhhhh . . . LIFE IS GOOD!

My Piano Debut

Hi There! What do you think of my new toy?! It's called a piano . . . and it used to be my mommy's toy (so it must be an antique by now).

My mommy keeps telling me it's not a toy . . . but then she tells me to PLAY the piano! (Talk about mixed messages.) I think it's fun, so it must be a toy!

Here is my debut composition . . .

I hope you were listening and watching carefully, because this second piece is very different.

I must be a prodigy because mommy says she didn't start playing on the piano until she was 3 years old - and I am only 18 months old! Well, that's it for now . . . gotta play some more!

P.S. - My brother Sabi has his own opinion about my music, which you can read about at his blog. Remember, . . . it's only an opinion.

Bye for now.
